North East Florida Jazz Association

A message from President Muriel McCoy

Happy Holidays to members of NEFJA and all lovers of Jazz,

As I am sure everyone will admit, 2020 has been a very strange and challenging year for all of us. It is with pleasure, therefore, that I share a little good news with you.

Pianist Kenny (Seven Octaves) McKenzie, who has performed for NEFJA, has just released a new CD entitled Dance Party. The album includes Kenny’s renditions of some jazz favorites including On Green Dolphin Street and Jeanette, as well as four original tunes. He is offering a special 30% discount off the cost of the CD to current members of NEFJA. If interested, you can email him at kenbolini@msn.com or send him a private message on FaceBook.

NEFJA member Tom Wood has published his biography, Anna's Boy, and will be the featured author at a book signing hosted by Chez Jacqueline, which is located at 25 Palm Harbor Village Way in Palm Coast. Tom’s book is a truly American story of a Black man's walk through "the winds, the rains, and the sunshine of change" in the 20th century. Tom will be at Chez Jacqueline from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 10 and books will be available. The digital edition is currently available on Kindle on Amazon. The hard cover book will be available after December 6 at Barnes & Noble, Amazon or your favorite bookstore.

Stay safe and enjoy the Holidays. Do not forget to wear your masks and wash your hands.

Hopefully, we will be able to carry out our plans for 2021 as scheduled. Be on the lookout for updates.

Warm wishes,

Muriel
